When I was young my parents purchased an old farmstead that had gone up for tax deed that included a large amount of frontage on Farm Island Lake in northern Minnesota. Every single weekend we would pack up and head to the lake. Dad had no problem putting us to work cutting and hauling trees to prepare the site for our first new cabin. It was a different kind of work that taught us not only how to work but how to enjoy and take pride in our work. Each day with the heat of the afternoon sun, swimming and fishing became the order of the day followed by hot dogs and s'mores around the evening firepit.
Life at the lake had exceeded our expectations but all too soon it was over. My parents had sold each spec cabin one by one and now someone wanted to purchase all of the remaining lots. About a year later my dad came home from work and said we quit our jobs, the house is sold and we're moving, it's time to get out of the cities. They had purchased a supper club in a small town in NW Wisconsin surrounded by great beaches, woods to explore and beautiful bike trails. I immediately embraced the idea of going back to the carefree lifestyle that I loved so much as a child at the lake.
Now today, more than ever I see families following in my father's footsteps and I am so grateful to be here to help you on your way to discovering what we have to offer families just like yours. I have been around for a long time, I know the area not from just moving here but from living here most of my life. I believe that people are still searching for what my father found so many years ago.
